Printing

Our print quality has been awarded locally and internationally, and we are proud to offer inkjet as well as digital offset printing for our books. Our commitment to accurate colour reproduction includes a colour managed workflow from the software to press, the provision of ICC profiles for soft proofing and manual checks of every printed page.  Your files must be submitted as Master Files (MBFs) exported from our software but they can be created using Momento Pro software, Photoshop, InDesign or Smart Albums.  See our Design Tools section for full details.

Inkjet Printing

Our fine art books and Flush Mount Albums are produced using the highest quality print option and broadest colour range available today.

Each 100% Cotton Rag sheet is manually fed into an 9-colour Epson inkjet printer, quality checked, then sealed with an archival coating to protect the print and ensure longevity.  All inkjet books are hand stitched and bound, with stunning results.

See some examples in our Fine Art gallery.

Our HP Indigo 7900 digital press is the international benchmark for on-demand books, as its ElectroInks produce the widest colour gamut available in digital offset printing today.

All book pages are printed in 6 colour, while our stationery items are printed in 4 colour.

The press is calibrated multiple times daily to ensure accurate colour reproduction, and every page is individually checked prior to binding.

Printed book and box covers, and dust-jackets, are produced on Epson Stylus Pro 9900 inkjet printers using Epson UltraChrome HDR inks.  They are then laminated for extra protection and durability.

Colour Management

Accurate colour reproduction is our goal but it's a team effort. We've developed a strict colour-managed workflow, and ICC profiles created by Dr Les Walking for every paper stock.

You can download these profiles to soft proof your images, but this only works when you're using a profiled monitor, the correct colour space and our recommended settings. To learn everything you need to know for accurate colour visit Design.
